Trump's business practices were called into question when, in 1973, the federal government filed a complaint against Trump, his father and their company alleging that they had discriminated against tenants and potential tenants based on their race, a violation of the Fair Housing Act, which is part of the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Trump responded to the case in an interview published in the New York Times. “They are absolutely ridiculous,” he said of the Justice Department which filed the case. “We never have discriminated, and we never would. There have been a number of local actions against us, and we've won them all. We were charged with discrimination, and we proved in court that we did not discriminate.”
After a lengthy legal battle, the case was settled in 1975. As part of the agreement, the Trump company had to train employees about the Fair Housing Act and inform the community about its fair housing practices. Trump wrote about the resolution of the case in his 1987 memoir Art of the Deal: "In the end, the government couldn’t prove its case, and we ended up taking a minor settlement without admitting any guilt."
In 2016, it was announced the Trump Taj Mahal would be closing its doors amid multiple bankruptcies throughout the years and a lengthy strike by workers

His lifestyle, meanwhile, was also sapping his wealth, the report said.
“Mr. Trump expects to exhaust his financial resources in July 1991,” the commission’s report said. “Furthermore, as a result of his severely limited financial resources, Mr. Trump cannot be relied upon as a financial resource for Taj Mahal, Castle, or Plaza.”

Today, there are eight left. Trump is no longer involved, having sold his interests or given up equity through bankruptcy proceedings years ago. The Castle is thriving under new ownership, the Plaza is closed, and the Taj is operating under supervision of a bankruptcy court.
“Trump was welcomed with open arms by everybody and provided the sense he was able to do everything he promised,” Perskie said. “His name and his legacy in the city were significantly tarnished. The business community and regulators no longer accepted the music of the Pied Piper.”

When talking about his legacy in Atlantic City, he expressed no regrets. “The Taj Mahal was a very successful job for me,” he told The Post.
“It’s not personal. This was just business,” he said. “I got out great.”

It was in 1990, however, that the real estate market declined, reducing the value of and income from Trump's empire; though he had asserted his own net worth in the neighborhood of $1.5 billion at that time, a Forbes magazine investigation into his assets revealed that his existing debt likely brought the number closer to $500 million. In any event, the Trump Organization required a massive infusion of loans to keep it from collapsing, a situation which raised questions as to whether the corporation could survive bankruptcy. Some observers saw Trump's decline as symbolic of many of the business, economic and social excesses that had arisen in the 1980s.
Donald Trump eventually managed to climb back from a reported deficit of nearly $900 million, claiming to have reached a zenith of more than $2 billion. However, independent sources again questioned his math, estimating his worth at something closer to $500 million by 1997.

Even in the face of Trump’s obvious financial instability, the commission allowed him to keep his gaming licenses because “he was too big to fail,” said Perskie, the former commission chairman. “The consequences for the city and the industry, and everything we cared about, would have been horrific.”

“One banker told me, ‘He would take down the bank, he owes so much money,’ ” Nobles said. “ ‘We can’t afford him to fail.’ ”
In late 1991, about 2½ years after Trump had purchased the airline, Trump gave up control of his prize in order to get out from a pile of debt.
As part of the deal, Trump was no longer responsible for some $245 million in loans left on the shuttle airline. In addition, out of the $135 million that Trump had personally guaranteed, at least $100 million was forgiven, according to news reports at the time.

Over the years, Trump has modified his business approach and rebounded with a focus on selling himself as a brand.
He now claims that he is worth $10 billion. Trump has developed a dedicated following, in part because of his brashness and wealth. He owns or has a financial interest in properties around the world.

But a recent analysis by real estate brokerage Redfin found that, since the beginning of last year, the Trump premium has essentially vanished.
Redfin analyzed sales of Trump-branded condos and similar, non-Trump units during the first five months of 2015 and then compared them to sales during the first five months of 2016. After adjusting for factors like location and size, researchers found that in 2015 — before the billionaire announced his bid for the presidency — Trump-branded units sold at a 6.8% premium over similar properties. On a per-square-foot basis, Trump units achieved a 9% premium (worth about $97 per square foot) during that time period.
Now researchers say the Trump name offers no pricing advantage at all. Trump-branded condos are no longer selling for notably higher prices and the per-square-foot premium Trump’s name seemed to command is no longer statistically significant. Even asking prices, which were 1.6% higher on average for Trump-branded properties last year, are now in-line with those of competitors’ similar units.
This comes at a time when Trump has enjoyed immense media coverage, which he has claimed drives up the value of his brand. According to mediaQuant, which estimates the dollar-value of candidates’ media coverage based on advertising rates, he has received more than $2.4 billion worth of “free” exposure over the past twelve months.

In 2004 Trump took advantage of his high-profile persona when he began producing and starring in the NBC reality series The Apprentice, in which contestants competed for a management position within the Trump Organization. The show quickly became a hit and made famous Trump's television catchphrase "You're fired." The success of the show resulted in numerous spin-offs, including The Celebrity Apprentice that showcased well-known figures as contestants.
In 2012, Trump's flirtation with politics resumed when he publicly announced he was considering running for president again. However, his prior association with the "Birther" movement, a fringe group that staunchly believed President Barack Obama was not born in the United States, seemingly discredited his political reputation.
He will have a great plan"

My America, America and I, how to make America great again oder auch America and myself.
Und hiermit schließe ich meinen Beitrag:
He was asked, in general terms: “Is there anything that can go wrong, that you’re aware of?”
“We can have a depression,” Trump responded. “The world could collapse. We could have World War III. I mean, a lot of things can go wrong. I don’t think they will.” (1988)

Denkt euch selbst euren Teil.
