However, since the collision of a B-25 bomber into the Empire State Building in 1945, designers of highrise buildings have become aware of the potential of the crash of aircrafts into buildings. A three-page document from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ or Port Authority) indicates that the impact of a Boeing 707 aircraft flying at 600 mph was analyzed during the design stage of the WTC towers in February/March 1964.22
