@FaIrIeFlOwEr @CosmicQueen @FunnyKerstin Dr. Conrad Murray speaks in court
Dr. Conrad Murray spoke for the first time Friday during his trial. But it was amid the sounds of clanking plates and foaming lattes.Prosecutors played the first portion of a more than two-hour interview with Murray conducted June 27, 2009, two days after Michael Jackson’s death. Detective Scott Smith led the interview at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey, CA and is currently on the stand.
Murray says he started seeing Jackson in 2006 because he was “not feeling well” due to a “family flu illness” that also affected his children. Jackson never disclosed whether or not he was under the care of other doctors.
“I was of the opinion that he would be my employer directly,” Murray says. “Subsequently to accepting that I realized that AEG would be the one paying for the salary that he requested.”
“I am an employee of Michael Jackson but paid through AEG.”
Murray also refers to Michael Amir Williams, Jackson’s personal assistant, as “Brother Amir.”
The recording will resume play after the lunch break.
