Zurzeit ist der medienträchtige Prozess gegen Michael Jacksons (†50) Arzt Dr. Conrad Murray in vollem Gange. Es soll ermittelt werden, ob er (Mit-)Schuld am Tod des Superstars hatte. Natürlich werden zu diesem Zweck vor Gericht alle unschönen Details des Todes besprochen und bewertet, keine leichte Angelegenheit für die Familie des Verstorbenen.

Besonders belastend muss dies allerdings für die jungen Kinder des King of Pop sein. Für sie war schon der Tod ihres Vaters verständlicherweise besonders schwer, und dass nun alles wieder in der Öffentlichkeit diskutiert wird, ist mit Sicherheit eine große Last für sie. Deshalb haben Prince (14), Paris (13) und Blanket (8) laut TMZ auch entschieden, die Gerichtsverhandlung gewissermaßen zu boykottieren: Sie sitzen nicht unter den Zuschauern, um das Geschehen zu verfolgen, sondern bleiben dem Prozess fern.

Dieser Entschluss ist auch ganz im Sinne ihrer Großmutter Katherine (81), die ihre Enkelkinder vor dem, was gesagt und gezeigt wird, schützen möchte. Sie selbst war ja schon erschüttert darüber, dass im Gerichtssaal öffentlich ein Foto von Michaels leblosem Körper gezeigt wurde. Das mussten die Kinder also glücklicherweise nicht sehen – besonders für die beiden älteren, die beim Tod ihres geliebten Vaters dabei waren, wäre das sicher sehr schockierend gewesen.

Ob der Jackson-Nachwuchs im Prozess aussagen muss, ist allerdings noch unklar. Die Möglichkeit bestehe, sei aber höchst unwahrscheinlich, heißt es. Prince wäre immerhin bereit, in den Zeugenstand zu treten, um seinem Vater zur Gerechtigkeit zu verhelfen.

Prince Michael (14) und Paris Jackson (13) mussten mit ansehen, wie ihr Vater Michael starb. Wie Faheem Muhammad, der Sicherheitschef des verstorbenen Popsängers, am 28. September vor Gericht enthüllte, standen die beiden ältesten Kinder des King of Pop daneben, als der der fahrlässigen Tötung angeklagte Arzt Dr. Conrad Murray erfolglos versuchte, Jackson wiederzubeleben.
In seiner Zeugenaussage erklärte Muhammad: „Paris lag am Boden und weinte und Prince stand einfach da. Er hatte einen schockierten, verweinten Gesichtsausdruck.“

Auch der Bodyguard selbst war damals geschockt von dem Anblick, der sich ihm bot. „Seine Augen waren geöffnet und sein Mund war leicht geöffnet. Er wirkte leblos. Ich war schockiert“, beschrieb er den toten Sänger. Anschließend hätte er die Kinder an einen Ort gebracht, wo sie nicht mehr sehen konnten, was vor sich ging.

Laut Muhammad blieb Alberto Alvarez - ein weiterer Sicherheitsangestellter - bei Dr. Murray, um ihm bei den Wiederbelebungsversuchen zu helfen. Später kamen die Sanitäter, die Jackson ins Krankenhaus brachten, wo er für tot erklärt wurde.

Michael Jackson starb im Juni 2009 an einer Überdosis des Narkotikums Propofol. Dieses soll Murray ihm damals verabreicht haben - weshalb er sich nun vor Gericht verantworten muss. Sollte er für schuldig erklärt werden, drohen ihm bis zu vier Jahre Haft.

Michael Jacksons Kinder Prince Michael (14) und Paris (13) wollen im Gerichtsprozess um Dr. Conrad Murray - dem Leibarzt des verstorbenen Sängers - in den Zeugenstand treten.


Berichten zufolge sind die beiden ältesten Kinder des Popstars wild entschlossen, in dem Gerichtsverfahren, den Todestag ihres Vaters aus ihrer Sicht wiederzugeben. Michaels Mutter Katherine - die Großmutter der zwei Kinder - soll von der Idee jedoch wenig begeistert sein.

Ein Nahestehender verrät „RadarOnline.com“: „Katherine widerstrebt diesem Vorgehen, weil sie weiß, wie traumatisch es für sie wäre. Aber sowohl Prince Michael als auch Paris haben gesagt, dass sie den Geschworenen erzählen wollen, was sie an dem Tag, an dem ihr Vater starb, gesehen haben.“

Obwohl Katherine Jackson der Gedanke nicht gefällt, dass ihre Enkel an dem Prozess teilnehmen, ist der Informant überzeugt, dass sie sich ihnen nicht in den Weg stellen wird. „Die Kinder möchten nicht, dass das Andenken ihres Vaters durch dieses Verfahren in den Dreck gezogen wird, und sie glauben, dass ihre Zeugenaussage helfen wird, Dr. Murray zu verurteilen.“

Michael Jacksons jüngster Sohn Blanket sei mit seinen zehn Jahren hingegen noch zu jung, um als Zeuge auszusagen.

Ein weiterer Insider in dem Fall fürchtet derweil, dass die Zeugenaussage der beiden Kinder dem Arzt, der dem King of Pop die tödliche Überdosis setzte, zugute kommen könnte. „Prince und Paris haben Dr. Murray angehimmelt und dachten, dass er ihrem Vater von Gott gesandt wurde“, verrät er. „Erst nach dem Tod ihres Vaters haben sie sich eine nachträgliche Meinung von ihm geformt. Sowohl Prince als auch Paris könnten im Zeugenstand sogar Beweise für die Unschuld des Arztes liefern.“

Beide Kinder seien sich bewusst gewesen, dass ihr Vater sich auf Dr. Murray verließ, um zu überleben, so der Insider weiter. „Ihre Aussagen könnten ihn vor einer Gefängnisstrafe bewahren, weil sich das im Auge der Geschworenen als positiv herausstellen könnte.“

Immer mehr Details über den Tod Michael Jacksons drängen an die Öffentlichkeit. Gestern wurde beispielsweise bekannt, dass der Notruf nicht sofort abgesetzt wurde, nachdem man den kranken Jackson gefunden hatte
Edward Chernoff, Anwalt von Jacksons Leibarzt Dr. Conrad Murray, sagte in einem Interview mit dem Nachrichtensender „CNN“, Murray hätte erst nach 25 -30 Minuten den Notarzt gerufen.

Zum einen habe das an den fehlenden Telefonanschlüssen in Jacksons Haus gelegen. Zum anderen habe er versucht, Jacko mit Herzdruckmassagen und Mund-zu-Mund-Beatmung wiederzubeleben. Erst als er merkte, dass er damit nicht zum Erfolg kommen würde, ließ er durch einen Bodyguard nach einem Krankenwagen rufen.

Girlfriends up soon in trial of Michael Jackson's doctor

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Jurors in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray will hear Monday from two emergency room doctors who tried to bring Michael Jackson back to life before declaring the pop icon dead.

Prosecutors are also expected to call three of Dr. Murray's girlfriends to the witness stand to talk about their conversations with Murray just before he realized Jackson had stopped breathing.

Monday is the fifth day of testimony in Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial, which is expected to last at least four more weeks.

The trial will resume without Jackson's mother. Katherine Jackson left Los Angeles for Canada with her son's three children during the weekend to attend Sunday's premiere of Cirque du Soleil's "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" in Montreal.

A source close to the Jackson family said she would not return to the trial at least until October 10, since she will also travel to Cardiff, Wales, for a tribute concert for her late son.

Prosecutors argue Murray, who was Jackson's personal physician as he prepared for planned comeback concerts, is criminally responsible for the singer's death because of medical negligence and his reckless use of the surgical anesthetic propofol to help Jackson sleep.

The coroner ruled that Jackson's June 25, 2009, death was the result of "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with sedatives.

The judge instructed lawyers not to disclose their witness list ahead of time. However, the prosecution has been following the same order of witnesses used in Murray's preliminary hearing in January.

Two cell phone company representatives are expected to outline calls to and from Murray's cell phones the morning Jackson died, followed by Los Angeles Police homicide Detective Dan Myers who led the LAPD probe of Jackson's death.

Los Angeles County Coroner Investigator Elissa Fleak will likely testify within the next two or three days about searching Jackson's home after his death. She said at the preliminary hearing that she found seven pill bottles on the nightstand next to Jackson's bed and an empty bottle of propofol on the floor near his bed.

Murray's defense lawyers contend Jackson caused his own death by swallowing eight lorazepam pills and orally ingesting propofol while Murray was out of the room.

The girlfriends, who could begin testifying as soon as Monday afternoon, include Sade Anding, a cocktail waitress who met Murray when she working at a Houston steak house. Anding testified in January that she was on the phone with Murray when he suddenly stopped responding to her just before noon the day Jackson died.

That is the moment prosecutors contend Murray first realized that Jackson had stopped breathing. "I didn't hear him on the phone anymore," Anding said. "I heard commotion as if the phone was in a pocket and I heard coughing and I heard a mumbling of voices."

Anding said she stayed on the phone for another five minutes, listening and wondering why the man she sometimes dated wasn't responding. "Hello, hello, are you there?" she testified she said.

The timing of the phone call is key to the prosecution's timeline of when Murray realized his famous patient was dying. Based on testimony so far, the moment came at 11:57 p.m.

Bridgette Morgan, who met Murray at a club in 2003, is expected to talk about developing a social relationship with Murray. She spoke to him on the phone about 30 minutes before Murray apparently discovered there was a problem with his patient.

Nicole Alvarez, the mother of Murray's youngest child, may follow them on the witness stand. Her testimony is especially important because the propofol Murray used on Jackson was shipped to her Santa Monica, California, apartment.

Alvarez, 29, who met Murray around 2005 in a Las Vegas gentlemen's club, made it clear when she previously testified that she knew little about the doctor's activities.

"Dr. Murray and I were on a need-to-know basis and I just know my place and my position in his life," Alvarez said.

Murray called Alvarez from the ambulance as he accompanied Jackson to the hospital, according to testimony in the preliminary hearing.

Dr. Thao Nguyen, a cardiologist who was part of the emergency room trying to save Jackson, may also testify Monday. Nguyen described it as an "orderly, organized activity" with five or six people present in the preliminary hearing.

"He asked me not to give up easily and try my best to save the patient," Nguyen said of Murray. They placed a balloon pump in the Jackson's aorta in an unsuccessful effort to restart his heart.

Murray "appeared devastated" when they failed, Nguyen testified.

Dr. Richelle Cooper, the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center emergency room doctor who pronounced Jackson dead, will be the first on the witness stand Monday morning, continuing her testimony that started Friday.

"He was clinically dead," Cooper said about Jackson when he arrived. "He did not have a pulse."

Jackson had "signs of a dying heart" when he was rolled into the trauma center after an ambulance ride from his home, Cooper said.

Murray told Cooper that Jackson's arrest came after he gave him two doses of lorazepam -- a sedative, Cooper testified. Murray did not mention using propofol, she said.

On Friday, two Los Angeles County paramedic who responded to the delayed 911 call from Jackson's home testified that Jackson was "flatlined" and appeared dead when they arrived.

Paramedic Richard Senneff testified that Murray told responders he had only given Jackson a dose of lorazepam to help him sleep and that he was treating him for dehydration and exhaustion, with no mention of the propofol.

Prosecutors contend one of the acts that makes Murray criminally responsible for Jackson's death was that he misled the paramedics and ER doctors by not telling them he had given his patient propofol before he stopped breathing.

The judge imposed a gag order Friday, preventing lawyers for Murray from talking to reporters about the case. His order came after he learned Matt Alford, a law partner to lead defense lawyer Ed Chernoff, gave a television interview to NBC's Ann Curry on Friday morning.

If convicted of involuntary manslaughter, Murray could spend four years in a California prison and lose his medical license.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's mother and his three children will be immersed in the pop icon's music, dance and imagery as they attend the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" in Montreal, Canada, Sunday.

Katherine Jackson, who sat through four days of disturbing testimony in the trial of the doctor charged in her son's death, agreed with the Michael Jackson estate and Cirque du Soleil just this past week to attend the opening performance this weekend, according to a source close to the Jackson family.

The agreement is a sign Katherine Jackson and the men who now control her son's estate as executors have reached an understanding that should ease the tensions that erupted in probate court soon after Michael Jackson's death in 2009, the source said.

Jackson's mother waged a legal challenge against lawyer John Branca and music executive John McClain, who were named as executors in her son's will, but dropped it several months later. Relations between the Jackson family and the estate have been tense from that beginning.

The trip, which includes Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson, will not end until October 9 when they return to Los Angeles following the Michael Forever Tribute show in Cardiff, Wales, next Saturday, the source said.

With several of Michael Jackson's brothers and sisters also traveling to the Wales concert, most of the Jackson family's eight seats in Dr. Conrad Murray's trial will likely go empty until next week.

Jackson's children never saw their father perform live on stage, but the Cirque du Soleil show promises for two hours to "capture the essence, soul and inspiration of the King of Pop, celebrating a legacy that continues to transcend generations."

The road tour will reach at least 47 cities in the United States and Canada over the next year.

The circus company, legendary for its creative and acrobatic performances, first talked to Jackson seven years ago about the possibility of a Jackson-themed show, Cirque's president said when the agreement with his estate was announced in April 2010. The estate and Cirque du Soleil are equal partners.

The MGM Mirage has signed on to host the Las Vegas, Nevada, residency starting in 2012. The hotel also will open a nightclub based on the Jackson show, the hotel said.

The event: The music, moves and legacy of Michael Jackson got the fantasy treatment Sunday night as Cirque du Soleil staged the world premiere of The Immortal World Tour. It's the biggest project formally authorized by the estate since the star's 2009 death.

The crowd: A capacity audience of 13,000 included brothers Tito, Jackie and Marlon Jackson, mom Katherine and Michael's kids Prince (14), Paris (13) and Blanket (9).

The tour: Sunday's show launched a 47-city North American tour that will make its U.S. debut Oct. 15 in Detroit. The tour — which will include a December residency at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas — is slated to wrap up July 20 in Chicago, though more dates are likely. Another version of the show will establish a permanent Vegas home in late 2013.

The fans: On a wet and chilly night in Montreal, Sunday's opening drew fans from Brazil to Los Angeles, some decked out with glittery white gloves and classic Thriller jackets.

The music: The show was an ecstatic barrage of hits from Jackson's solo career and Jackson 5 years. With vocal parts extracted from original studio tapes and mixed with a live band (directed by Jackson keyboardist Greg Phillinganes), it was a four-dimensional funky swirl of sound. The set ran through a host of moods — a night where the tender Childhood seamlessly segued into the crackling Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.

The performance: The Jamie King-directed show featured Cirque's typical attention to detail, from meticulously constructed props (glowing hearts, a handsome hot-air balloon) to exquisite cast numbers choreographed by longtime Jackson associates such as Travis Payne. Unlike traditional Cirque shows, Immortal was presented less as a nouveau circus than a fantasy concert, with some of Jackson's signature moves cast through Cirque's whimsical prism.

The centerpiece: A re-creation of Jackson's Giving Tree, the backyard spot at his Neverland Ranch where he often retreated for musical inspiration.

The wow factor:Human Nature featured performers dangling over the stage, gorgeously dotted with lights against a backdrop of stars. A giant white glove and dancing shoes appeared for Beat It, and the Giving Tree sprouted a sprawling set of claws for Thriller, which featured mummies and white-tuxedoed zombies. Peace symbols adorned the chests on the robotic warriors of They Don't Care About Us. While the show featured no singular story line, broad themes of compassion, human connection and global consciousness were sketched throughout.

The King of Pop: Jackson's images were a constant presence, and he occasionally had the stage to himself: I'll Be There featured just his voice accompanied by a live piano, childhood footage playing on a big onstage screen.

The brothers: Backstage, three beaming Jackson brothers declared that the show captured Michael's spirit. "That was Michael's message — to help us understand that love is so important," Tito says. The family was particularly moved by the interpretation of Gone Too Soon. "Our mother is probably bawling out there somewhere," Jackie says.

Conrad Murray is still putting people to sleep -- only this time the "patients" are stoners who are buying the latest strain of marijuana -- named after the doc -- at California weed shops.

The strain is being sold under the name, "Conrad Murray OG." One weed shop owner boasted, "It puts you to sleep ... for a really long time."

As for whether Doc Murray will take legal action -- well, he's got bigger fish to fry.
