The governments of Malaysia, Australia and China maintain the search area will not be expanded beyond the current zone in the absence of credible new information.http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/mh370-more-possible-debris-sent-to-experts/news-story/d5cc4d78d1776b0e29013b3fea819102?nk=e4d89ba7ff4effd6197e9299274da509-1464312105
The underwater search is expected to be completed around July or August.
A media report earlier this week suggested Nanhai Rescue Bureau from China’s Ministry of Transport may continue the search for MH370, having ordered deep-tow systems.
But an Australian Transport Safety Bureau spokesman told AAP that had been denied by Chinese officials.
In response to enquiries from the RO, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) advised that ‘All onboard surveillance and surveillance sources e.g. ADS-B/X'PDR/FMS can be turn off inflight by switches or via circuit breakers. The aircraft Emergency Locater Transmitter that is installed on all B777 (a recent mandate) failed to provide a signal. Apparently this can also be deactivated if the switch is left in ‘reset’ position by the crew. It is normally set to ARM during the crew pre-flight checks’http://www.icao.int/APAC/Meetings/2015%20APSARTF3/WP05%20ICAO%20Brief%20on%20the%20SAR%20Response%20to%20MH370.pdf (Archiv-Version vom 04.08.2016)
This unit is mounted to aircraft structure at the aft passenger cabin at STA 1880. A control switch installed in the cockpit aft overhead panel provides the command signal. This switch is guarded in the ARMED position. If required the flight crew can select the ELT to ON by moving the guarded switch from ARMED to ON.Also wird hier es so ähnlich beschrieben wie oben, allerdings wird die Funktion "Reset" nicht erwähnt, die ICAO kritisiert das anscheinend.
