Los Angeles (CNN) -- Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, was rushed to a hospital early Wednesday morning, sources close to the Jackson family told CNN.

Katherine Jackson's personal lawyer told CNN that Paris "is OK."

"Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are," attorney Perry Sanders said Wednesday morning. "It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."

Other Jackson sources stopped short of calling the incident a suicide attempt, although one suggested it might be "a cry for help" from the teenager.

Paris posted messages to her million-plus Twitter followers late Tuesday evening:

"i wonder why tears are salty?"

"yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away

"now it looks as though they're here to stay"

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said its deputies "responded to a medical situation" at an address that matches the Jackson's Calabasas home at 1:27 a.m. Wednesday. A patient was taken to a hospital, it said.

Paris was recently reunited with her mother, who bowed out of her life when she was an infant. She has been spending time with Debbie Rowe on her horse farm.

Rowe issued a statement through her lawyer Wednesday morning: "We appreciate everyone's thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family's privacy."

Paris, along with her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, and her brothers, Prince and Blanket, are suing AEG Live for liability in Michael Jackson's 2009 drug overdose death.

Paris and Prince are scheduled to testify in the wrongful death trial later this month. Both teens were questioned in depositions for two days each by AEG lawyers in recent months.

Paris made millions cry four years ago when she spoke up at the end of the public memorial service for her father.

"Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said, fighting back tears as relatives consoled her. "And I just want to say that I love him so much," she said as she burst into tears and sought refuge in the embrace of family members.

Paris Jackson was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday morning, and sources tell us it was a suicide attempt.

Paris was taken out of her Calabasas family house on a stretcher at around 2 AM and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The 911 call came in at 1:27 AM. We're told the caller reported a possible overdose, although a source connected to the emergency response said there were multiple cuts on one of her wrists.

On Tuesday night ... Paris posted some cryptic tweets, including, "I wonder why tears are salty?" ... and "yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay."

We're told she's doing ok.

On May 19, Paris said, "Kurt Cobain is Jesus" during a video chat with someone ... and she posted the whole exchange on Vine.

Perry Sanders Jr. wrote in a statement to The Associated Press that Paris Jackson is getting appropriate medical attention and the family is seeking privacy.

"Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are," he wrote. "It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."

Sanders declined further comment on Paris' condition or the circumstances that led to her hospitalization.

Fire and sheriff's officials confirmed they transported someone from a home in Paris' suburban Calabasas neighborhood for a possible overdose but did not release any identifying information or additional details.

Paris frequently posts messages about her life on Twitter, where she has more than a million followers.

One of her most recent posts was from the Beatles' song "Yesterday": "yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay." Another post included the question, "I wonder why tears are salty?"

A 20-minute video of the teen applying makeup was posted to YouTube last week. Paris says on Twitter she doesn't know how the video, in which she repeatedly asserts, "I am so weird," ended up on the site.

"I hope you guys liked it tho and didn't think i'm too crazy," she wrote. "i get weird when i'm not around people lol."

Katherine Jackson shares guardianship of her son's three children — Paris and her brothers Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11 — with the singer's nephew, TJ Jackson.

Messages left for TJ Jackson's attorney were not immediately returned.

"We appreciate everyone's thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family's privacy," Debbie Rowe's attorney Eric George wrote in a statement.

Michael Jackson kept his children out of the spotlight during his lifetime. After his death from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol in June 2009, the children took on a more public life, appearing at memorials and commemorations of their father.

The children are listed as plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed by their grandmother against concert giant AEG Live LLC, who she claims is responsible for her son's death. Katherine Jackson's lawsuit claims AEG failed to properly investigate the doctor convicted of causing the singer's death, and pushed the superstar to rehearse and perform a planned series of 50 comeback shows titled "This Is It."

Paris and Prince are listed as potential witnesses in the case, which is in its sixth week of trial.

Katherine Jackson's trial attorney, Brian Panish, declined comment Wednesday morning on Paris Jackson's condition. Her hospitalization came hours after AEG Live's CEO Randy Phillips told a jury that he believed the lawsuit was a shakedown and extortion attempt and that the company should not be held responsible for Michael Jackson's death.

Lawyers for the Michael Jackson Estate are scoffing at Wade Robson's creditor's claim ... saying it's absurd he had no idea for nearly 4 YEARS that the Estate was being probated and there was a deadline for filing claims.

Attorney Howard Weitzman wrote incredulously ... the MJ probate is one of the most high-profile ever, and Wade is very connected in the music biz. So, Weitzman asks, how could it be he had no idea there was a deadline of 4 months after the Estate proceedings began to file a creditor's claim?

TMZ broke the story ... Robson has filed the claim, alleging MJ molested him for 7 years -- between the ages of 7 and 14.

Weitzman is asking the judge to reject Robson's claim on grounds it was filed ridiculously late.

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris nearly killed herself today after posting ominous tweets and throwing a huge fit because she was forbidden to go to a Marilyn Manson concert, sources said.

Paramedics received a call for help at about 1:15 a.m. to the Calabasas home of Jackson's mom and three children, Los Angeles County Fire Department officials said.

The caller reported an overdose and paramedics rushed the patient to a local hospital.

Grandma Katherine Jackson said Paris is a “sensitive” teen who has had to endure tragedy in her young life.

Paris is under the legal guardianship of grandmother Katherine Jackson and cousin T.J. Jackson, the adult son of uncle Tito Jackson.

The Jackson family is in the middle of an ugly lawsuit against concert promoter AEG. The family is blaming AEG for Jackson's 2009 death, claiming the company should be held civilly liable for ignoring MJ's declining health.

Katherine Jackson has been attending the trial almost every day in downtown LA, but she wasn't in court today.

Paris seemed to be in a better mood earlier yesterday, tweeting out a British tabloid report that she was wanted to be considered for the role of “Dr. Who,” a famed BBC science fiction character.

Paris and her brother Prince, 16, are offspring of Rowe, a former dermatologist’s assistant who helped treat Jackson for various skin ailments.

The youngest sibling is Blanket, 11, and his biological mother has never been revealed.

Sources with an intimate knowledge of the situation tell TMZ ... Michael Jackson's daughter called a suicide hotline and the person on the other end was alarmed enough to call 911.

Our sources say in addition to cutting her right forearm, Paris had taken a large number of Motrin pills.

We're told once Paris was taken by stretcher to an ambulance and then transported to a nearby hospital, she was placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold for 72 hours.

She received "numerous stitches" for the cut.

As for the suicide note ... we do not know what she wrote.

TMZ broke the story ... officials first responded to Paris' home in Calabasas around 1:30 AM Wednesday morning.

Paris Jackson‘s suicide attempt was not an overdose as a 911 dispatcher disclosed, RadarOnline.com has learned — sources say the troubled teenage daughter of late pop star Michael Jackson slashed her wrist because she was emotionally distraught over having to testify in the current wrongful death lawsuit.

“It absolutely wasn’t an overdose,” a Jackson family insider said.

“Paris didn’t take any pills, she cut herself and she absolutely didn’t have a temper tantrum about not being allowed to go to a Marilyn Manson concert, as has been reported. What’s more, she has never attempted suicide in the past.”

As RadarOnline.com reported, the 15-year-old was rushed to a Los Angeles area hospital in the early hours of Wednesday in what paramedics described as a response to a “person who apparently took some kind of medication.”

She was reportedly placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold for 72 hours — the same evaluation that Britney Spears went under in 2008 that allows for a qualified peace officer or clinician to involuntarily confine someone because it’s deemed they have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves and/or others.

The shocking and sad incident comes soon after the civil trial commenced in the Jackson’s $40b lawsuit against AEG Live LLC, in which the famed music family claimed the concert promoter failed to properly investigate the doctor who was later convicted of her son’s death. AEG denies wrongdoing.

Paris was due to testify in the trial, at AEG’s request, but was “emotionally distraught about having to go to court. Paris wants nothing to do with the trial and is unwilling to do so.”

As Radar was first to report in March, Paris was deposed before the trial after AEG subpoenaed her. The deposition took place at a Los Angeles courthouse because older brother, Prince, had previously answered questions under oath at a lawyer’s office and “it didn’t go well.”

“Prince had a rough time during his despoition, so allowances were made to make sure it didn’t happen again,” a source connected to the case said.

“That’s why Katherine’s lawyers demanded that Paris’ deposition take place at the courthouse so the judge could intervene if it appeared to be getting too tough for her.”

A second Jackson family source told Radar the King of Pop’s only daughter was “nervous about the trial, Wade Robson‘s lies about her father and she’s been struggling to fit in at school.”

Robson, a dancer-choreographer who was befriended by Jackson when he was a child, is now seeking money from Jackson’s estate for alleged child sex abuse and called late pop icon “a pedophile and a child sexual abuser” in a television interview last month.

leider wird es so etwas immer wieder geben, dass sich Geschwister in ihrer Entwicklung zum Erwachsenen auch etwas "entfremden" ... jeder einzelne wird lernen müssen, dass die eigenen Prioritäten nicht unbedingt auch für den anderen so viel "Gewicht" haben ...

wie Blanket damit umgeht, ist uns weitgehend unbekannt ... das, was wir von Paris und Prince mitbekommen haben, ließ aber nicht unbedingt auf diesen furchtbaren Absturz schließen ...
ja, man hat sich gefragt, haben sie wirklich alles gut verarbeiten können ???

und auch Paris zeigte sich fröhlich und auch entspannt ... der Kontakt zu ihrer Mutter, ließ sie richtig aufblühen ...
aber ich habe es bereits hier geschrieben, man kann in keinen anderen Menschen schauen ... die tatsächlichen Gefühle sind manchmal ganz tief verschlossen ...

Jetzt versucht man, die letzten Tweets zu analysieren ... aber hätte man aus diesen Tweets auch die richtigen Schlüsse ziehen können ???? ich denke eher nein, denn Paris hat schon oft Texte aus Songs bei Twitter zitiert ...

meine Meinung ist nach wie vor, die Gründe, die zu dieser Torschlußpanik geführt haben, haben sich aus vielen "Puzzel-Teilchen" entwickelt ... und alle zusammen führten zu dieser furchtbaren Vorgehensweise ... denn das bisherige Leben, war wohl eher eine Gratwanderung, mit vielen gefährlichen Absturzmöglichkeiten ... :(

ich hoffe, Paris bekommt jetzt endlich die Hilfe, die sie braucht, um sich zu einem glücklichen, zufriedenen Menschen entwickeln zu können ...

Cops officially classified the Paris Jackson incident as a "suicide attempt," but they do NOT believe her intent was to kill herself.

Law enforcement sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... based on the information the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. has gathered ... "She wanted attention." One source involved in the case tells us ... her call to a suicide hotline is compelling evidence "she wanted to be saved." The source added, "It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house."

TMZ broke the story ... Paris used a meat cleaver to cut her arm and took a bunch of Motrin, and our sources say as a result they must classify it as a "suicide attempt." But, as one source put it, "Who takes Motrin to kill themselves? She called the suicide hotline because she wanted the attention and wanted to make sure EMTs got there in time."

We're also told Paris was conscious when EMTs arrived and did not argue or put up a struggle when she was placed on a stretcher.

One source connected with the case tells us, "She's into the drama."
