Israel - wohin führt der Weg?

From the NYT:

“East Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine,” Saeb Erekat, a senior Palestine Liberation Organization official, said on Voice of Palestine radio. “If they think that they can reach security with these measures, they are wrong. The Palestinian people will continue to defend themselves.”

The bolded sentence is a direct threat - Israeli defensive measures are useless, Erekat is saying, because Palestinians will always be able to break through the defenses and kill Jews.

But his next sentence defines these stabbings as "defend[ing] themselves."

The reason is clear:

Erekat knows that this current unrest is making Palestinian Arabs look bad,

He cannot deny that there have been many stabbings, car rammings, shootings and stonings against innocent Israelis.

So he needs to cast the terror spree as "self defense." Because self defense is justifiable.

Saeb Erekat is saying that Arabs have the fundamental human right to murder random Jews in Israel.

Too bad no reporter ever calls him on statements like these.

Hey, it's been a solid couple of weeks since I last caught him lying. But this time he is accidentally telling the truth - he, and the Palestinian Arab leadership, really support the terror spree as moral even if they don't want to suffer the consequences.

Jerusalem district police officers took an initial statement from Ahmed Manasra (13), who is current hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem. He admitted to conducting the attacks and told investigators that: "I went their with my cousin Hassan in order to stab Jews." According to him, Hassan planned the act and provided the knives.

While PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas professes the PA’s alleged wish for peace, his own Fatah movement is busy glorifying murder as “a symphony of love for Jerusalem.”

During the demonstration, a Palestinian young man wearing a yellow vest marked 'PRESS' approached the Israeli soldiers and stabbed one of them before being immediately shot and killed, the PIC reporter said.

The Israeli soldier was transferred to hospital suffering from moderate wounds in his hand and neck.

Advice On Making Attacks More Effective:

Social media users advised potential stabbers how to make their attacks as deadly as possible. A Gazan user named Zahran Barbah, writing under the Facebook hashtag "Stab," posted the following anatomical chart, showing which parts of the body to aim for.[2]

Under the hashtag "Slaughtering the Jews," a user called Yusuf posted a message copied from the account of another user, addressed to "our brethren in the West Bank and all of Palestine" who wish to kill "pigs" in the quickest possible manner. The message advised them to slash the jugular vein, on the right side of the throat, which would cause death within one minute and preclude any possibility of saving the person stabbed.[3]

An organization representing foreign journalists in Israel and the Palestinian territories on Friday condemned the attack by a Palestinian assailant who stabbed an IDF soldier in Hebron while posing as a reporter.

The military arm of Fatah, the secular organization which has dominated the Palestine Liberation Organization and is under the control of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, posted on its Twitter account an explicit call for Palestinians to carry out attacks against Israelis.

Two Palestinians were killed and at least 100 others injured as Israeli forces opened fire at demonstrators in the Gaza Strip on Friday, medical sources said.
