Last updated at 8:56 AM on 24th November 2011Somewhere underneath the bizarre revelations and the controversy surrounding Michael Jackson's death, the human tragedy at the heart of this international news story has been all but lost.
But that changes the instant you set eyes on some of the items set to go under the hammer next month as part of a sale of the contents from the Bel Air home that Michael was renting.
Most of the items from North Carolwood Drive are impersonal pieces of furniture or decor, designed quite obviously to form a bland but luxurious backdrop to a rented home.

Jackson's children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, now 14, 13 and nine respectively, have had some fun with a tiny blackboard in the kitchen.
Between them, they've written the phrase 'I love Daddy' twice, substituting the word 'love' for a childish heart symbol, and underneath is the merry phrase: 'Smile, it's for free.'
Words of encouragement: Michael wrote to himself: 'Train, perfection, March, April, Full Out, May...' as he prepared for the This Is It tourReminder: The armoire where Michael wrote his message has worn his words for over two yearsBut while this small symbol of normality suggests that the Carolwood home was a haven of happiness for Michael's brood, another inscription betrays the desperation their father was facing.
Upstairs on an armoire, scribbled across a mirror is an assertion of will in the late superstar's hand, it reads: 'Train, perfection, March, April, Full Out, May!'
A representative for Julien's Auctions - who are holding the sale - say Michael wrote the inspirational message to himself giving him motivation for his anticipated This Is It tour.
Palatial: The rented home is to be cleared of furniture after laying empty for two yearsGrand: But it appears that the Jackson family like to gather in the more humble kitchenPool: The children had a big and safe pool to play inTMZ have reported that these personal messages were not intended to be shared with the public, however the items are to be listed for auction on December 17.
Among the items for sale in the medication room, where evidence was collected for Murray's trial, are upholstered chairs smudged with Jackson's makeup and the deathbed, which looks out to an expansive back garden surrounded by tall trees with a large swimming pool and a pool house, where the singer's son Prince carved his name on a candle.
Souvenir hunters: Fans of Jackson will have a chance to own artifacts from his last ever homeTreasure trove: But the bed, not pictured, where Michael died will not be part or the saleOld school: The property is filled with original touchesThe medication room, on the top floor, leads to another walk-in cupboard and bathroom, where Jackson's make-up still remains on a small silk-covered stool beneath the vanity.
Curving staircases on each side of the mansion's most famous room lead down to the kitchen and the elegant foyer, where a grand piano sits topped with crystal candlesticks.
The home and its decor, which Jackson leased, are reminiscent of Neverland Ranch, Jackson's estate near Santa Barbara, said Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien's Auctions.
