Followers of the Conrad Murray trial are aware of the fact that the trial is now in its fifth week. The defense has started to present its case, and yesterday, it called the CEO of AEG, Randy Phillips to testify. There is no doubt that people were interested to hear what Phillips would have to say. There were a variety of things discussed in his testimony as they pertained to Michael Jackson, and he explained that the last rehearsal that Michael Jackson had was great.

As nbclosangeles.com reports, Randy Phillips said of Michael Jackson's final rehearsal: "I had goose bumps." He went on to say "I am as cynical as you can be about this business," inferring that it would take quite a lot to get him to respond in such a way, and Michael Jackson did so by the brilliance that he showed in the last rehearsal.

The This Is It tour would have been a huge success -- one that no other artist would accomplish. Michael Jackson is indeed the King of Pop and will remain so.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m.: After powering through several character witnesses, including Gerry Causey, a former patient of Murray's who was treated by the doctor 11 years and who has remained friends with him since. He declared Murray "the best doctor I've ever seen...I just don't think he did what he's been accused of."

The court took an early recess for the day due to a pressing yet unforeseen scheduling conflict. Testimony will resume tomorrow morning at 8:45 a.m. PT.

The Michael Jackson manslaughter trial hasn't been kind to Conrad Murray. But today, if the doctor's defense does their job right, that will change.

His attorneys, who are blowing through their witnesses at record speed, are expected to call five character witnesses to the stand today who will attempt to paint the doctor as a caring physician who was doing the best he could for his patient—who, incidentally, was just named Forbes' No. 1 top earning dead celebrity, with an estimated intake of $170 million last year. In any case, it's safe to say those witnesses have their work cut out for them.

Should the defense power through the five witnesses planned for today, just two will remain in their case and take the stand tomorrow.

As always, E! Online will be livestreaming all the courthouse proceedings, which kick off today slightly later than usual, at 9 a.m. PT.

That would be Paris Jackson, the late King of Pop's 13-year-old daughter!

While hitting the field as the only female member of her private school's flag football team, Michael Jackson's kid proved she can be just as tough, if not tougher, than the boys during a game in L.A. on Tuesday.

In fact, at one point, Paris reportedly showed off some serious muscle when she introduced her elbow to an opponent's chest.

Cheering their sister on from the sidelines were brothers Prince and Blanket.

All of which seemed to pay off in the end with Paris' team winning 32 to 6.

That's one way to tell the opposition to beat it!

Like a 13-year-old Mike Singletary ... Paris Jackson was a focused instrument of destruction as a linebacker during a flag football game in L.A. yesterday.

Jackson -- who's the very first female in the history of her private school to join the squad -- also played a little offensive line ... and got STRAIGHT UP PHYSICAL with the boys, throwing some pretty aggressive blocks.

But Paris wasn't the only celebu-spawn on the gridiron ... Oksana Grigorieva and Timothy Dalton were standing on the sidelines to support their son, Alexander, who's also on PJ's team.

Jackson's school emerged victorious ... and after the game, she tweeted about it ... saying, "We Won 32-6!!!!!!!! Yeahhh Boiiiiii!"

The defense is trying to make the case ... Dr. Conrad Murray is a great doctor with a pristine reputation -- and to prove their point, they're calling several of Murray's former patients to the stand ... each with glowing reviews of the good doc.

First up ... a heart attack patient named Gerry Causey -- who told the jury, Murray saved his life. Casey said Murray is "the best doctor" he's ever had.

Interestingly, Causey told jurors he didn't want to be sedated during the operation because he was too scared ... so Murray didn't put him under.

He also said Murray took great care in explaining everything he was doing.

Prosecutors made sure to point out -- Murray's treatment was done in a monitored environment with the help of a large staff.
