Georgia police officer fatally shoots unarmed, naked black man

A white Georgia police officer fatally shot an unarmed, naked African-American man Monday who officials said was described as deranged.

The shooting took place about 1 p.m. when officers were responding to a report of a suspicious person at an apartment complex in DeKalb County, just east of Atlanta, said Capt. Stephen Fore, spokesman for the county police.“The suspect was described as acting kind of deranged and running around the complex,” Fore said. "Before officers arrived, another call came in that the man removed all his clothes and was still running around.”

The responding officer, a seven-year veteran, found the man. The man “charged” the officer once he got out of his patrol car, Fore said, and “the officer discharged two rounds” from his gun.

The man was struck twice and died at the scene, Fore said, adding that the officer had immediately tried to render aid.

The man did not have a weapon, Fore said. Police did not identify the man or the officer.

The officer was equipped with a Taser, said DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander.

The slain man lived in the apartment complex, Alexander said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is handling the case. It is being done at the request of Alexander, who said he wanted transparency.“I have requested and I have spoken with the GBI director, and the GBI is going to take point on this investigation, and we here at DeKalb County police will provide any support that they may need," Alexander said during a news conference.

The officer involved in the shooting has been put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Damit wollte ich lediglich sagen, dass diese Ganngs ein Geschäftsmodell haben.
Die kann man nicht so einfach damit bekämpfen, dass man Sozialleistungen zahlt und schöne Schulen baut.

Ich klick auf fast alle Links, ich denke wenn in Amerika einfach Mehr Kinder zur Schule gehen, wird auch die Kriminalität sinken, anderer Seits steigt der Schwarzmarkt Handel mit Waffen extrem an...

Das liegt daran dass viele Gesetzesbereiche nicht von der Bundesregierung geregelt werden , u.a. eben auch das Waffengesetz .
Gerade in dieser Jahreszeit steigt der illegale Waffenhandel extrem an .

nein , ich habe aber über ein Jahr in New Yorck gelebt und das Thema war im Frühjahr jedesmal in den Nachrichten

+ 3 erschossene Polizisten, landesweit in den USA.

Trooper Trevor Casper was shot and killed in Fond du Lac while attempting to apprehend a bank robbery and murder suspect at approximately 5:30 pm.

The subject was believed to have robbed a bank in Wausaukee approximately four hours earlier. Approximately one hour after the bank robbery the suspect abandoned the vehicle he was driving, murdered a citizen, and stole a second vehicle in Marinette County.

Trooper Casper located the second vehicle as it was being driven through Fond du Lac and began following it. He was directing other officers to their location when the man pulled into a grocery store parking lot and stopped. The man exchanged shots with the responding officers and Trooper Casper was fatally shot. The subject was also shot and killed by return fire.

Trooper Casper had graduated from the police academy only three months prior to the incident and was on his first shift after being cut loose from field training. He is survived by his parents and two sisters.

Police Officer Michael Johnson was shot and killed as he and other officers responded to a suicide threat at an apartment in the 2600 block of Senter Road shortly after 6:40 pm.

A friend of the subject in the apartment had called police and stated the man was drunk and was possibly having thoughts of hurting himself. As officers approached the building the man stepped onto the balcony and opened fire without warning, fatally wounding Officer Johnson. Other officers returned fire and provided aid to Officer Johnson.

The subject was found dead on his balcony at approximately 3:30 am after the SWAT team's robot made entry into the apartment.

Officer Johnson had served with the San Jose Police Department for 14 years.

Police Officer Alex Yazzie was shot and killed near Red Valley, Arizona, while pursuing a subject who had shot at another officer who had responded to a domestic violence call in Little Water Trading Post, New Mexico, shortly after 4:00 pm.

The initial call involved a report of a barricade situation in which a subject armed with an AR-15 rifle was holding his family hostage. The man opened fired on responding officers and then fled across state lines into Arizona, approximately 29 miles away. The man opened fire on officers a second time after they located him in Red Valley at approximately 10:30 pm.

Officer Yazzie was fatally shot and two other officers were wounded during the shootout. The suspect was also killed during the gunfight.

Officer Yazzie was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Navajo Division of Public Safety for 14 years.

Warum sollte es ? Waffen sind eine Interessante Sache und bestimmte Länder bieten eine willkommene Darstellung für Empirische Forschung dafür. Solange diese vorhanden ist, kann ich die Konsequenzen davon abschätzen und mich in Ruhe darauf vorbereiten.

Ist ja echt widerlich, was sich dieser Polizist da geleistet hat. Er hat erstmal seelenmunter den Schwarzen erschossen, in den Rücken geschossen. Definitiv keine Notwehr. Und dann legt er dem Mann Handschellen an und legt den Taser neben den Mann und behauptet später es gab einen Kampf, holy shit! Was für ein Sch***n ist das denn.

Das Video hat den Polizisten guterweise definitiv der Lüge überführt! Es gab keinen Kampf, und er ist dem Schwarzen, als er geflüchtet ist, nicht hinterhergerannt. Sondern schießt einfach munter drauf los. Auf einen Unbewaffneten. In den Rücken. Und läuft noch wirklich seelenruhig hin und leistet nicht mal erste Hilfe. Und will noch lügen dann anschließend, es hätte nen krassen Kampf gegeben, Notwehrschüsse und so. Damn.

Hat er also angenommen, dass er gegen das Gesetz gehandelt hat oder wie. Es musste so aussehen wie ein Kampf, damit die 8 ? Schüsse auf eine Person, die selber nichtmal ne Schusswaffe bei sich hatte, gerechtfertigt werden können. Neu in diesem Job ist dieser Polizist ja auch nicht, zumindest hat er nen höheren Dienstgrad hab ich gelesen und gesehen? Mangelnde Erfahrung kann man doch kaum vorbringen.

Es gibt auf youtube zahlreiche Videos mit Kämpfen zwischen Polizisten und Personen...man beendet als Polizist, selbst in den USA, ja auch selten ne (Kneipen)schlägerei mit Schüssen auf die oder den Beteiligten. Dumm.

Ja, normalerweise steht es doch Aussage gegen Aussage. Vermutungen stehen im Raum, handfeste Beweise gibt es selten. Aber dieses mal ist das Videomaterial eindeutig. Der Polizist hat dann hinterher noch gelogen und den Ablauf wohl bewusst falsch dargestellt. Geht nicht sowas.

ja, allerdings, aber da der Polizist des Mordes angeklagt ist wird es sich hoffentlich in Grenzen halten, aber es ist eben auch in gewisser Weise eine Bestätigung dafür, dass Polizisten eben sehr wohl Schwarze unbewaffnete Menschen erschiessen, es eben nicht unbedingt zu beweisen ist, wenn man kein Video hat.......das könnte dann die anderen Fälle wieder aufflammen lassen

Jo hoffen wir mal darauf... wär ja nicht so heikel, wenn es keine jüngere Vorgeschichte gäbe.
Aber weitaus heikler, wäre der Polizist freigesprochen worden und das Video danach aufgetaucht.

Das Polizeiwesen in den USA ist ja ohnehin ungewöhnlich irgendwie. Für Polizeiangelegenheiten sind die Städte, Countys vernatwortlich, genauso mit allen finanziellen Herausforderungen.

Man sagt ja auch, die Ausbildung von US Polizisten ist hier und da einfach ungenügend. Und das ist wiederum so, weil die Städte die immens hohen Kosten für Polizisten, Material und Ausbildung kaum tragen können?

Also so sieht wohl die Ordnung für die Einstellung von Polizisten in North Charleston aus.
