Palestinian medical sources reported Saturday morning that a Palestinian child died of wounds sustained Friday evening after Israeli soldiers opened fire at him in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Child was identified as Ghazi Maher Al Zaaanen, 13. He was shot in the head by Israeli troops stationed east of Beit Hanoun town.
He was moved to Al Shifa hospital where he was operated and remained in a critical condition for several hours before he was pronounced dead.

All of a sudden, we can say "racism." A shock wave has struck complacent Israeli society. A few dozen Ethiopian children were not accepted to religious schools in Petah Tikva. That is truly terrible, everyone tsked-tsked at the heart-rending picture of Aschalo Sama, a boy without a school. Even President Shimon Peres expressed shock. Everyone is permitted to be shocked; it is politically correct.
Oh, how beautiful we are, how enlightened we seem to ourselves. Look how we fight racism, undaunted and uncompromising. A Negev farmer acquitted of manslaughter charges for the death of a Bedouin who broke into his farm two years ago has been handed a plea bargain by which he will serve six months of community service for illegally carrying a weapon.
According to the deal Shai Dromi's six-month sentence will also be reduced by 30 days, which he has already served in detention.
At a court hearing on Dromi's case Sunday, prosecutor Alon Altman said the special circumstances of the case justify the withholding of a prison sentence.
"The special circumstances of this case and the manner in which the weapon reached the hands of the defendant lead to our belief that the proper balance rests in the punishment we petitioned for, and I ask the court to approve our request," he said.

At the company's firing range in the Jewish settlement bloc of Gush Etzion, near the Palestinian town of Bethlehem, relatives from Israel, Canada, the United States and Belgium formed a group of 15 clients from 10 to 50 years old.
They shot everything from handguns to M-16 combat rifles.
James, an Ohio native who did not want his family name published, took the course earlier this month while visiting friends in Israel after a business trip in the West Bank.
"The most shocking part was when they had us shout 'terrorist' before getting into shooting position," he said.
He enjoyed the course and felt it was safe but morally questionable. "It could indoctrinate children with racist beliefs. It was sad to hear young kids express such racism. It makes the likelihood or reaching a peaceful settlement to the (Middle East) crisis seem more difficult."
