The earthquakes in Eyjafjallajökull volcano

The night of the 6th of January 2011 had few earthquakes in the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. This minor earthquake activity has been reported by the Icelandic media this morning. The news on this is not a long one. But confirms that some of the earthquakes in Eyjafjallajökull volcano are real (but might be wrongly located by the automatic SIL system). In the same news it is claimed that icelandic geologist are not concerned about this minor earthquake activity in Eyjafjallajökli volcano. But none of the earthquakes that did happen tonight (on the 6th of January 2011) did get over the size of ML2.0.

A few minor earthquakes were measured below the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers in south Iceland last night. They were all lower than two points on the Richter scale in strength.

There has been some seismic activity in the area lately but earth scientists are not concerned that it might lead to volcanic eruptions, visir.is reports.

According to recent reports, rumbling can still be heard in Eyjafjallajökull on occasion, but that is not considered an indication that the eruption, which ended last summer, is resuming.

Scientists have speculated that the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull might trigger an eruption in the bigger volcano Katla, which lies underneath the neighboring Mýrdalsjökull icecap, but there have been no signs of an upcoming eruption there either.

Risse im Eis lösen,hervorgerufen durch starke Kälte,und einen heftigen Sturm,haben eine "seismische Aktivität" ausgelöst,so das bis zu Punkt 3 auf der Richterskala gemessen wurde...

Some activity was noticed in Eyjafjallajökull glacier yesterday, which was registered by the Icelandic Meteorological Office’s indicators. However, it wasn’t a case of seismic activity—let alone a sign of an upcoming volcanic eruption—but rather cracking in the ice, which measured up to three points on the Richter scale, Fréttabladid reports.

The weather was very cold in the Eyjafjallajökull area yesterday, which caused the glacier to crack in such a violent manner. A storm is currently raging below the Eyjafjöll mountain range, as in most other parts of the country.

Erhöhte geothermische Aktivität in Grímsfjall Vulkan

Laut einer News von Morgunblaðið (mbl.is) gibt es eine erhöhte geothermische Aktivität in Grímsfjall Vulkan . Die Nachrichten berichtet, dass in Bereichen, in der Nähe der Häuser (HUD oder so ähnlich), die Forschungs-und Berg-Gruppe haben in der Gegend gibt es erhöhte Aktivität Erdwärme. Es ist schwer zu wissen, ist aus den Nachrichten berichten, wie viel Erhöhung der Aktivität gibt. Aber, aber dieser Anstieg scheint bedeutsam, da es vergangenen Tagen habe bemerkt, durch ein paar Reisegruppe das war in der Gegend.

Die Gruppe, die sich dorthin, wo vor wenigen Tagen aus dem isländischen Gletscher Forschung Gesellschaft. Sie taten sich einig, dass sie nie so viel geothermische Aktivität in der Gegend gesehen. Die Inflation in Grímsfjall Vulkan ist jetzt dann war es vor dem Ausbruch im Jahr 2004 nach den Nachrichten. Es gibt eine gute Chance, dass die ML3.5 und ML4.2 Erdbeben vor wenigen Tagen ändern Wege haben in den Boden und ließ das heiße Wasser zu steigen, um an dieser Stelle Oberfläche.

Erdbeben zwischen Grímsfjall und Bárðarbunga Vulkan. Erdbeben Schwarm in Krísuvík Vulkan

Seit Woche 52 im Jahr 2010 gab es zwischen worden seltsamen Erdbeben Bárðarbunga Vulkan und Grímsfjall Vulkan . Es ist schwer, genau zu wissen was das bedeutet. Aber es ist klar, dass die Spannung steigt schnell in Grímsfjall Vulkan, wie es Belege, die die ML4.2 und ML3.5 Erdbeben in Grímsfjall Vulkan in wenigen Tagen. Aber das könnte etwas sein, oder könnte dies einfach alle werden gar nichts. Nur die Zeit wird uns sagen, was das bedeutet.

Soweit ich weiß, wie das war nichts aufgenommenen vor Gialp Eruption (SIL Erdbeben Daten von 1996) zwischen Grímsfjall Vulkan und Bárðarbunga Vulkan im Jahr 1996. Aber es ist ein wichtiger Faktor, der SIL-Netzwerk Menge war ein kleiner zurück in jenen Tagen.

Krísuvík Vulkan

Heute morgen hat es in wurde ein Mikro-Erdbeben Schwarm Krísuvík Vulkan . Das größte Erdbeben ML2.0 gegangen bis (automatische SIL-Daten), mit der Schärfentiefe von ~ 4 km. Bisher haben rund 20 Erdbeben Office läuft aufgenommen von der SIL-System, Isländisch Met. Heute morgen hat das Erdbeben Schwarm bisschen beruhigt ein. Aber es ist schwer zu sagen, wenn es nicht über-oder. Aber dieser Bereich Krísuvík Vulkan wurde mit einer Menge von Mikro-Erdbeben Schwärme in den letzten paar Wochen. Dies ist die Inflation) wurde gefolgt von einer Hebung im Vulkan (. Aber das war Anfang Anfang letzten Jahres nach einer kurzen Phase der Deflation.

Andere dann bleibt es ruhig in Island Vulkan und Erdbeben weise.

Eartquake swarm in Hengill volcano

The Icelandic volcano known as Hengill did have a minor earthquake swarm of 20 something earthquakes today. This earthquake swarm might be related to geothermal power plant activity nearby (by pumping down or up water in the area). But at the moment I do not have it confirmed and this has also not been confirmed by the news.

This earthquake swarm in this area is normal and this volcano has several every year as it located on the main rift zone in Iceland. The last large earthquake swarm in this volcano took place during the year 1997 to 2000. Then many earthquake up to size Mb5.0 took place in Hengill volcano.

Die Nachricht über einen angeblich bevorstehenden Vulkanausbruch am isländischen Vatnajökull war in den vergangenen Tagen durch die britische Presse gewirbelt. Sie basierte offenbar auf einem missverstandenen Fernsehinterview mit einem Vulkanologen des isländischen Wetterdienstes zu Beginn der Woche.
