Israel plant Totalembargo für Gaza-Streifen
29.06.2007 um 19:44On Thursday, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad had warned Islamic preachers that he
would not tolerate calls for violence delivered from mosque pulpits and would collect
militants' weapons.
At a mosque in the West Bank city of Ramallah, the preacher stuck
to generalities, without getting into politics, as two police cars were parked outside.
Many mosques are being closely followed by authorities.

In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, the
regular pro-Hamas preacher was replaced by a clergyman who spoke of the need to support
the new Palestinian leadership
Die meisten Menschen wissens schon was
die Imame sagen dürfen und was nicht. Ist in der Türkei und den arabischen Ländern auch
nicht anders.
But in the West Bank city of Nablus, Maher Kharas, a
Hamas leader, railed against America, Israel and Palestinian moderates. He delivered his
sermon at the al-Khadra mosque in the old city of Nablus, where Israeli troops earlier in
the day wrapped up a raid against wanted Palestinian militants.
"Israel soldiers
invaded Nablus for two days. Where is the government to defend the old city? Where is the
government that demanded the dismantling of the armed brigades?" he said. "America will
be defeated in Iraq and the believing Muslims will come here
victorious."
"Abmachungen" halten!
