If an appeal is granted, it will not be a retrial.
Appeal judges just read the court records and take submissions from probably Nel and Roux. They will be the only ones to appear at the appeal court.
In the meanwhile I would suggest Pistorius will be in jail on the gun charges

ON whoop whoop David O'Sullivan says there is most certainly a presumption of guilt on the three gun charges.
He thinks there has been nothing from the defense to defend or even explain those charges.
Pistorius has only concentrated solely on the murder charges, on the other three counts he will be found guilty for all.

Have faith in the gun charges putting him behind bars as soon as the verdict is reached. The ammunition charge alone can carry up to 15 years in prison. There will be an outcry if Masipa fails to jail him on that charge. Plus there are no grounds for appeal on that charge - ignorance of the law is no excuse!
