Yeah, it's that damn "austerity." Obviously nickel-and-diming* people with shitty jobs is a better way to balance the budget than buying fewer tanks, guns, and aircraft. :nerv:

* American expression, not sure if you're familiar with it... it basically means repeatedly charging/penalizing small amounts of money that add up over time.
