Ich mag Russland, stimmt. Russisch ist für mich auch die schönste Sprache der Welt.
Aber was die russische Führung so treibt, muss ich ja dennoch nicht gutheißen.

Don't know about that. The US might not have as many soldiers, but our government has spent a lot more money on military technology. Plus, they've been occupying Iraq and Afghanistan for more than 10 years now, so they have a lot of veteran troops.

After all, Russia is not some shitty country like Iraq and even there the Army had trouble.

The trouble in Iraq is with insurgents - the Iraqi Army fell in days. I agree that trying to occupy Russia would be doomed to fail, but defeating the Red Army is a totally different proposition.

Remember, the Russians failed at occupying Afghanistan, too.

It's not called the "Red Army" since the Soviet Union fell. And a full blown war between Russia and the USA can't be in anyone’s interest.

That's different. They fought against guerillas, just like the US Army did in the very same shithole.

Whatever, under Putin it may as well be called the Red Army. I also agree that it's not in anyone's interest. If you admit that fighting against guerillas is very difficult, then you can't use it as evidence that the US Army is worse than the Russian Army, that was my only point. It's not even a matter of nationalism - I personally think we should cut back on our military - it's just a fact that the US has the most powerful military in the world.

Also rein Waffentechnisch denke ich mal das die Amis um einges moderner ausgestattet sind als die Russen, denn mit purer Mannstärke gewinnt man heute nicht mehr.
