This unit has a rubber cup mounted on a hand-held motor that provides a vibration effect when held against the skin. The Spot Reducer was sold as a device to help people lose weight. The US government sued the Spot Reducer Company of Newark, New Jersey, for making fraudulent claims about that use. Information about the legal case can be found online at:

The unit has a needle mounted vertically inside the upper plastic cone. A user places an egg on the needle, piercing the shell, and activates the unit. The needle acts as an agitator inside the shell, mixing the yolk and egg-white. This appliance was made by G&F Tool Manufacturing Inc., for Egg-Stir Corporation of Palmer, Massachusetts. The donor was president of G&F, and the unit was new and unused when we received it.
