NEW YORK -- A powerful race of space aliens has returned to Earth after thousands of years -- and they want their planet back!
That's the alarming word from U.N. sources who say that extraterrestrials have told them they originated on Earth -- and now they've come to reclaim their birth world.
"These aliens are claiming that millions of years ago, they were the Earth's dominant species. They developed an advanced civilization and then around 5 million B.C. they left to colonize the stars," says the source, a United Nations translator who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
"Now they've gotten nostalgic for Earth, which they see as a primitive paradise, and a return-to-the-old-country movement has sprung up."
The international organization is now bracing for an influx of as many as 60 billion E.T. "settlers" from all corners of the galaxy.
"Some countries like Russia have been talking about trying to prevent them from coming by force of arms -- which is crazy talk," said the source. "The aliens have weaponry far more powerful than anything humans can conceive of.
"We either negotiate for the right to stay on, in some form or fashion, or they'll come down and wipe us out like cockroaches.
"Besides, international law happens to be on their side. This was their planet first. If they really want to reclaim Earth, they're entitled to it."
The aliens offered as proof of their heritage an 11,000-page holy book called the Xor 'ke Ber, which details their origins on a place referred to as "The Third Planet."
"They blasted off when humans were still living in trees," the source says.
UFO expert Dr. Phillip Delaplant, of the Institute for Paranormal Studies of Belgium, finds the bizarre story credible.
"The mere fact that human females routinely are abducted by aliens and report having sex with them indicates that our two species are distantly related -- which is only possible if aliens really did originate on Earth," he noted.
The aliens told U.N. representatives that a few of their kind, known as The Watchers, visit Earth from time to time to keep tabs on human activities on their old digs -- and they're not at all happy with what we've done with the place.
"They see how we've polluted their homeland, and it ticks them off," said the U.N. source. "According to the Xor 'ke Ber, their home world was once a paradise like the Garden of Eden -- now it's covered with billboards and factories. In their view, we've ruined it.
"When they land, they plan to raze our cities and return Earth to its former pastoral beauty."
According to a tentative plan being hammered out by the U.N., Earth will be divided, with the more-populous aliens getting North and South America, Asia, Europe and Antarctica, and humans resettled in Africa and Australia. If all goes according to schedule, the mass exodus could begin by 2008.
"It may not sound entirely fair, but frankly, it's either that or wait till the aliens come marching through and exterminate us," the translator said.
