Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Metal-Bands mit extremerer Spielweise konnte Cradle of Filth zunehmend kommerzielle Erfolge verbuchen, weswegen ihr von vielen Vertretern des Black Metal Ausverkauf und Kommerzialisierung vorgeworfen wird.
