On 12 October 1963, Marlene Dietrich was a special guest at the Grand Gala du Disque at the Kurhaus in Scheveningen, the Netherlands. She performed five songs and was given the honorary Edison award by Dutch author Godfried Bomans who introduced her with an unusual but amusing speech. The complete show was broadcasted live.
On 29 July 1991, the speech by Godfried Bomans and Marlene Dietrich performing "Where have all the flowers gone" where broadcasted again as part of the nostalgia programme "Het was stil op straat" ("It was quiet on the streets") by Dutch broadcaster AVRO (Dutch or English spoken, Dutch subtitles).
