Options and tabs for the program currently being used should be at the top of the screen. Shit having to do with the OS or other programs shouldn't also be at the top. Proper spatial separation of UI elements is basic stuff.

Which is the case, but I have opted that you can see them only if you're hovering with your cursor over it.

Oh, okay. I was wondering about the minimize and close program buttons, but that still doesn't excuse having the clock and volume and everything up there. It's too cluttered having both the program options and the system options all in one place.

It's not cluttered. The minimize and close buttons and all the stuff on the right never get in the way of each other. I like it this way and I don't really want to use another GUI anymore... I've grown too accustomed to the Unity Interface and to be honest, at the beginning I thought it was ugly as well, but I gave it a chance and ended up loving it pretty fast. :vv:

Back when I thought it was ugly I thought that only about the 12.04 Version with Unity installed on it. Unity has improved greatly since then.
