Use however many words you need, but don't push yourself to make it longer just for the sake of being longer. Length is a means to an end, not an end in itself.

I'm not setting up unreachable goals like 15,000 words a chapter. Yes, they exist. And I just feel like Sonata deserves such a long chapter because I neglected her more or less.

Yeah I know. Just sayin', people who write those 15,000-word chapters mostly fall into two groups - those who would have been better served separating it into two 7500 word chapters and those who could have said the same thing in only 12,000 words but used way too much flowery language.

Chapters that long are very rare though and in the stories I have read them they are pretty good. Sometimes quality and quantity work hand in hand. But still, I won't write my chapters that long.

Yeah, but even if you have a lot to write and all of it is good, knowing where to split it into multiple chapters is a skill that a lot of people don't have. Remember when Zerco was telling Nyan that he'd get through FOE pretty quickly if he read 20 page a night, and Nyan thought that was too much? There are a lot of people like him who don't want to read very much in one sitting.

And now I remember something. Some guy on Fimfiction also published two chapters at the same day to make up for a long wait. I'll do the same.
