Yeah i know, but i wonder why it is so different between Languages using the same Alpabet. And i dont know why you only write ,,I" with a capital Letter.
To me this always seemed to be arrogant ^^

Also, English was heavily influenced by French, and French has pretty much the same capitalization rules (other than the "I" thing).

As you know we also got ,,sie" for example if we say ,, Wem gehören diese Biere? Ich will sie trinken"

I dont exactly know the entire History of european Languages, but i think in the 11th Century, when the ,,Fränkisch" Realm dissolved, German may has influenced French a bit. And of course German had its Influence on English, so it may also have happende that all Nouns would now be written with Capitals in English too.
Anyway, as long as we all can communicate with each other, everything is fine :)

Yeah, the German influence came earlier, though - the Saxons settled in England around the end of the Roman Empire, whereas the Normans didn't invade until 1066.
