Like I said, it's a completely unisex name in the South, so I'm sure he had no problems growing up, and of course now that we're all adults no one is going to make fun of someone's name because that would just be childish.

There are a few other names like that. For example, I've got a friend whose dad is named Kelly, and that's a perfectly normal Irish boy's name.

In Germany and I think as well in America, both genders can be called "Alex", but ususally it's just an abrrevation for Alexander or Alexandra.
