It was intentional, it's a joke because in the movie a kid wasn't allowed to have one because his parents told him it was too dangerous, he'd shoot his eye out.

Up to you, but it does a flat 25 damage (by comparison the sniper rifle does a random amount between 14 and 34) and has a magazine capacity of 100. XD
