"I’m In Love" was the first Kashif produced song I heard and is still my favourite. He had one of the most distinctive sounds of the 80s and sadly died at the young age of 57 in 2016. It’s a very well constructed piece of music with lots of catchy riffs on cool sounds that bounce off each other, whilst Evelyn delivers a sultry and playful performance over the top. For my version I emptied it out a little, so even though I use all the music it’s not in all the way through. 81/82 was a good year for drums on these sort of records, they were still using a live drummer but the recordings are much cleaner and more precise, similar to the sound of Leon Sylvers productions on Solar Records.
