1980 habe ich das Musikvideo zu dem Song "Ashes To Ashes" von David Bowie zum ersten Mal im Fernsehen gesehen.
Zuerst habe ich David Bowie innerlich belächelt. Dachte wohl, was das für ein merkwürdiger Vogel sei! :)

Aber im Lauf der nächsten Tage, musste ich immer wieder an den für mich so sonderbaren Sänger denken.
Es war nicht nur die Musik bzw. das Video an sich. Auch sein Gesicht war für mich einprägend.

Alsbald musste ich die Vinyl-Single zu "Ashes To Ashes" kaufen und ich spielte die Musik rauf und runter.                                               

 Es verging nicht viel Zeit, bis ich eine beachtliche Sammlung von David Bowies Werken hatte.

Das ging mir mit Bowie ähnlich. Er entsprach einfach nicht dem was man sich zur Zeit unter einem Pop oder Rockstar vorstellte. Der Thin White Duke - androgyn und so zerbrechlich. Irgendwie nicht von dieser Welt.
Aber genau wie bei Dir wurde er zum Idol meiner Jugend. Vor U2 und Falco.

Dieser Song von Bowie hat mich auch tief bewegt, insbesondere wegen des Films.
Das Schicksal der Cat-People. Aufgrund ihrer Verwandlung in einen Panther konnte Irena(Nastasja Kinski) nicht mit Olivier zusammen sein und zog ein Leben als Panther im Zoo vor statt jedesmal nach dem Liebesakt mit Olivier einen Menschen zu töten.
