Vom Mountains Of Death, MOD, habe ich bereits hier im Fred geschwärmt, aber nie erwähnt, dass ich dieses Jahr dahin gehen würde. Dass es zum letzten Mal statt findet, ist verdammt schade, sowohl für die Bands, die Fans (Leute aus Deutschland, Niederlanden, Italien etc.) sowie die Region Muotathal.

Watain durften nicht in der Schweiz am Metalfest auftreten , und ihr Auftritt wurde 10 Minuten vor Beginn gecancelt. WTF ? FTW !!!
Angeblich versprachen sie kein Blut und keine Tierköpfe in der Show zu verwenden, was eine Lüge war... es gab nie so ein Versprechen.

Watain Statement :

"STATEMENT REGARDING THE SWITZERLAND SHOW

This is our attempt to shed some light on the whoredom and idiocy behind the cancelled show in Switzerland on the 28th of May.

We have performed at Z7 two times in the past, once with Dissection and once with Celtic Frost. Both times there were no problems whatsoever, regardless of blood or other ingredients of the concert. We were very much looking forward to perform there again in front of a rabid crowd of Watain supporters from Switzerland and those that had travelled from all over Europe.

Howeber, ten minutes before we were supposed to go on stage, the crew of Z7 all of the sudden removes all the amplifiers along with the drumkit. Instead of answering our questions, they went to hide behind security pigs. When these clearly retarded half-apes started to realize the fragility of the situation, they called the cops for backup. The cops stripped us of knives and tools to secure their heroic "overtaking", apparently they did not think we were outnumbered already with 20 cops and their pigs surrounding us. Meanwhile the audience were informed by an announcement in the speakers (the promotor was obviously too shitscared to go on the stage and face all those that he had just ripped off) that the show had been cancelled because Watain had promised a show without blood and animal heads, and now there were blood and animal heads on the stage. Be it known, once and for all, that such a promise had NEVER taken place. This was a total LIE made up by the charlatans of Z7 and nothing else. The Watain concert rider -giving a clear picture of the nature of the show- had been on their sperm smeared office desks for over a month. Furthermore, never during the 8 hours that our crew had already spent setting up the gear was there ANY attempt made for discussing this, the backline was removed by the Z7 staff and that was that. No explanation was given, apart from that the owner -a grey haired, grumpy and senile cripple- thought it smelled too much.

The crowd of course went mad and started to throw bottles towards the stage, which was by all means a good move! We asked to get a microphone to go on the stage and make an announcement ourselves to our crowd, but this request was denied by the Z7 staff. Instead they put two security apes between us an the stage with a fire-extinguisher hose pointed at us.

This is a typical example of what happens when greedy business men with short arms and deep pockets start to organize shows and festivals. Those who have bought ridiculously expensive tickets to be able to see the show get ripped off, and are of course not refunded. The band that has been contracted to play are told to go home, and surrounded and outnumbered by filthy cop pigs with drawn sticks there is not much of an option.

We strongly encourage any kind of violent acts of vandalism towards Z7; spraypaint, molotov cocktails, crushed windows, crushed kneecaps etc. We have always considered this to be one of the best venues of Europe, but now they have shown their true face. Their punishment will come, that is very certain!

A proud hail to the Swiss Watain militias who showed their rage, and made the security and the staff piss their pants in fear with their mad chanting! See you soon...."
